Shot and directed this TV commercial for the ad agency PUSH in orlando. I like the cut that’s airing now, but thought I’d put up an alternate on the blog. Want to thank my buddies Eric Larson and Cy Cyr, who helped me on game day. We shot a team scrimmage with about 4 thousand people in the stands and had to make it look like a real game. Editor Kent Vanderburg cut it for me. All stop motion still photography.

Flashes of Hope

Last week I had the honor of photographing for Flashes of Hope. Flashes of Hope is a national nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research. Please check out their website…they do wonderful work.

After the huge response I got from that simple post in which I talked about making your photography personal, I realized I’ve been behind the proverbial eight ball when it comes to social media. I didn’t think I needed it, or I thought I didn’t have time for it, but I’ve come to realize to have a connection with so many people with similar interests (and some with not so similar interests!) is very inspiring to an artist.

Communication Arts Photography Annual Winner

This photograph of golfer Ken Green was chosen as a winner in the Communication Arts Photography Annual 51. They received 6075 entries this year and chose 147 winning projects. It’s a real honor to be included in the contest winners, lots of beautiful work in there. The gallery is online here and will be published in the annual July/August.

Photographed golf phenom Alexis Thompson for Golf Digest, July edition. She qualified for the U.S. Open when she was 12, she’s 15 now and will turn pro this month. What an amazing young woman…if only I could hit a golf ball that far! Shot her at the fishing pier at Deerfield Beach.

Photographed Ernie Els and his family for Golf Digest last month. Their home in Jupiter is spectacular, but I concentrated on the love he has for his family. Dragged out the Fuji 680 film camera and shot some of my stash of Polaroid Type 55 on his portraits. He’s a class act, and the week this story came out he won Doral…I’m just saying….
